Taiwan Pride Parade 2009

Join Us in Taipei on October 31, 2009. The theme of this year’s pride parade is Love Out Loud, and we will be having Fish Leong (梁靜茹) as our “Rainbow Star” performing on stage in the end . The parade will be leaving from Kaidagelan Blvd. (in front of the Office of the President), going through Ai-Guo W. Rd., Chung Hua Rd. and passing several LGBT historical landmarks, and returning to Kaidagelan Blvd. in the end.

Theme

Taiwan was hit by one of the deadliest typhoons that triggered floods and mudslides, causing severe causalities. Taiwan Pride Parade donated 450 brand-new t-shirts to the victims of floods on Aug. 13. We’ve also decided to donate 20% of personal donations to help rebuild the tribal villages. We hope to make a contribution to the reconstruction efforts in the future.

The Power of Love Conquers Discrimination
 
What we want to say:
 
We spread our LOVE everywhere.

We often please others, but ignore the importance of treating ourselves well.
‧
LGBT individuals are everywhere. We love our family, we love our friends, and we spare no effort in being responsible to our society.
‧
We have never ceased to love to this society. Many of us devote ourselves to social works as a life career. However, we do not enjoy full human rights.
We LOVE ourselves.
‧
We often please others, but ignore the importance of treating ourselves well.
‧
Only if we know how to love ourselves, can we love more people around us and make this world a better place.
‧
We show our pride to prove that even we are not so beloved; we can still be loved by ourselves in various ways.
We need your LOVE!
‧
Because of prejudice and misunderstanding, LGBT community is discriminated against and issues of human rights, legal rights, education, social welfare, etc. are consistently ignored
‧
We expect respectful treatment of all selves and others. We will keep communicating with all members of society despite our harsh situation. This is the time to conquer discrimination with power of love. Come in proud, and love out loud!
